The Study On The Selection Of Inscriptions On Bones Or Tortoise Shells

The selection of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells is a kind of sentences that select different aspects of the same thing. This thesis includes five chapters. The first chapter is mainly about the definition of selection of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells and the relationship between selection of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells and other kind of divination forms. The second chapter is about the forms of selection of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells, includes the position, the vocabulary difference and the difference between the words’ forms. The third chapter is the focus of selection of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells and talks about the focuses’ types, focus words’ function in the sentences, the relationship between different focuses and sentences with more than one focuses. The forth chapter reveals the ways to show focus. There are two ways, one is with the help of focus-show words and anther one is transposing. The last chapter shows the meaning of this whole study. It not only helps us understand the inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells but also helps us reveal the language in Shang dynasty.
