JiSe is an important category of Chinese calligraphy theory. It not only belongs to the technique concept, but also the aesthetic category. JiSe contains the meaning of speed, but not just speed, whether it is fast or slow, In order to make it strong, penetrating, forceful,JiSe of the rules demand that stroke strength be made into the dots and lines,. Since Cai Yong, the Han Dynasty calligrapher, proposed "JiSe" concept, many calligraphers followed him and paid special attention to his idea, consciously or unconsciously tasting and inheriting the calligraphy techniques of the "disease of acerbity"."JiSe" can be revealed by stopping from time to time and striking like lightening in technique and the method of wrapped twist to show the strength and unsmooth feeling of the dots and lines in calligraphy. In the ink, dry brushes can display JiSe better in terms of the strength and unsmooth.Brush pen, ink, and paper—these writing tools influence the "JiSe" performance. From a physical perspective, the friction of ink and paper, puts the stroke strength into the dots and lines, achieving forceful and penetrating effect. Chu Suiliang’s "Sand painting inkpad" method, Yan Zhenqing’s "watermark dripping from the roof", Huang Tingjian’s "paddle" method, and Lin Sanzhi’s "line" method, are all the best interpretation of the "JiSe".Seal cutting also reveals "JiSe". In the art of using carving knife, there is the method of carving in an unsmooth way which is a reflection of JiSe.The method of JiSe also exists in rushing forwards carving knife, cutting downwards knife and the combination of rushing and cutting.
