| This dissertation examines the experiences of modern art by Americanization and American art museum through early20th Century. Each of units in this progression, such as galleries, magazine, conception and action ware all play the role in American modernism art history. The American art museum, however, as the national symbol embody the treasure of great power and the truth of country’s preserve, it was represent the20th victory for democracy and successfully appeal to the characteristics into native culture.These are one side of my research, what the key important is take the basic methods on conceptions, policies, art medium, popular reading and social movements to do further study: Deduce, conflict and revolution and formed art conception by different period, genre artist to Europe modern art. Furthermore, the change of Unite States to Europe arts, the shape of mass medium to audience, American art’s redefined to national identify through two world wars, and how define to the modernism art by museum, these are all construct the frame of dissertation. Considering the research of modern art by Americanization, the thesis made from collections, art market’s establishment, promotion of new skill development, study for solo artist and works for the further in-depth study. Under the structure, the States’art showing an unprecedented change in early20th century that construct the raise of identity aware. All these are rarely concern by now.Art museum and modern art works organized the relationship for each other, a plenty of USA modern art were exhibited and interpretation under the context of museum. It attempt to, in this dissertation, present two ways for discussion of Americanization:art identity and art audience, both of them according to different methods influence the States’modern art simultaneously. Following two main traits to dig how American modern art get acknowledge in the basic of philosophy eventually born abstract expressionism and steering visual to the conceptions. |
