With the technology continue to progress, the global digitization era arrival, and under the background of calls for "national essence", ink art changing constantly seeking the new role. Ponder about the opposition of traditional and the modern gradually entangled into the contemporary creative thinking and theoretical thinking of the art of photography. Experiments of Chinese traditional ink art are getting a growing world attention. Ink photography developed rapidly in social concern. Meanwhile, the artistic value of ink art is facing a further inquiry.To solve the problems above, the article tries to get the interpretations from multiple angles of ink photography-interprets ink phenomena and experimental works appear nowadays by analyzing the internal and external factors of ink photography’s born, and summarizes the artistic characteristics of ink photography; systematically studies the artistic conception of Ink Art and works in different styles, then introduces influenced Ink photographer and appreciate their works; discusses the artistic achievements and cultural values of Ink photography, makes ideas and reference for the development of the Chinese ink photography and traditional Ink Painting. There are five sections in the article. The first chapter is Introduction, what introduces the statement of the research background, research methodology and significance; the second chapter provides an overview of traditional Chinese Ink Painting; the third chapter analyzes the conditions of ink photography’s born and characteristics of Lang Ching-shan’s works; the forth chapter details the techniques and different styles of ink photography; the fifth chapter gives interpretations of works in every era with high degree of concern and summarizes the artistic achievements of the ink photography.With the arts has become increasingly diversified, ink art would not to stay in people’s nostalgia stick to insist tradition. It shouldn’t be one-sided denied by its negative factors, but should break the traditional stereotype, extracted the artistic essence, positively acceptance of ideological change, to create more value for the community. These have become critical issues what today’s art creators are facing. Explored the law of art development, we know that art should be more inclusive, compatible and package.
