The Cohesion Theory was first raised by the famous functional linguists Hallidayand Hasan in1976, which has founded a new field for English context study. Duringrecent years, with the development of Chinese and English Contrastive Linguistics,the contrastive study of Chinese and English context is getting into a vigorous period.Base on the framework of Cohesion Theory and the classification of grammaticalcohesion and lexical cohesion, this thesis illustrates cohesive devices of Chinese andEnglish context and analyzes the differences in Chinese and English context from thefollowing aspects: reference, substitution, ellipsis and conjunctions. The purpose ofthis thesis is to summarize regulations which may promote Teaching Chinese assecond language and bring inspirations for learning second language. On the basis ofprevious studies, this thesis also analyzes implicit cohesion from the aspects ofsituational context, pragmatic knowledge, psychotic devices and implicit grammar inhopes of enriching Cohesion Theory. |
