Trust and credit are core topics derived from the same origin in the Chinese traditionalculture. Trust crisis and credit crisis as serious problems have arisen frequently under thebackground of stranger society. What exactly is trust and as also the credit, especially thestructure of the concept of them, are the central issues of those problems. There are manydifferent viewpoints between Chinese psychology and western psychology on these issues, even the credit almost has no place in the theory system of western psychology when it asa kind of personal character. The present research indigenously explored the structure ofconcept of trust, credit and their relationship in Chinese population, using the groundedtheory paradigm. Besides, experimental method was used to explore the relationshipbetween trust and credit from the angle of percevied self-control.This paper is composed of two parts, one is qualitative research, another isexperimental research. The conclusions of the paper are as follows:(1) The structure of concept of trust includes13dimensions which are trust others, theprocess of trust, interactive communication, subjective emotion, within-group andbetween-group, outward manifestation, degree of trust, inner psychology, personalcharacter, nature of events, effect of trust, the influence from society, culture andenvironment.(2) The structure of concept of credit consists of11dimensions including personalcharacter, the process of credit, fulfilling promises, objectiveness and evaluative, criterionof judgment, outward manifestation, nature of events, elasticity of credit, economicactivities, inner psychology, the influence from society, culture and environment.(3) The relationship between trust and credit mainly indicated the differences in theintrinsic quality. They are relative independent and credit is considered more to be the basisof trust.(4) There are four parts of the common components of trust and credit, which arepersonal character, outward manifestation, inner psychology, the influence from society, culture and environment, reflecting the consistency of trust and credit. On the other hand, the inconsistency of them lies in the different nodes under the same structure of six parts, which are personal character, outward manifestation, inner psychology, the influence fromsociety, culture and environment, natrue of events, the process of trust/credit.(5) Perceived self-control had effects both on trust and credit, indicating that higherperceived self-control leads higher evaluation of trust and credit while lower perceivedself-control brings out the lower evaluation.Evaluations of trust and credit were significantdifferent on the same level of perceived self-control, revealing the differences on theiressence.
