The Research Of Gansu Image Which Constituted By Photograph News In The Xinhua News Agency

Since the new century, governments demand better images of themselves and the relative local regions, and they are striving to establish some influencial local brands. National and local government invested a large amount of money to inspire people and government for image building with local characteristics. Under this background, more and more scholars did the research of regional image building, which produced a large number of theory and practice.Photography report data, published by Xinhua news agency between2008to2012,about Gansu province has been selected as the samples in this paper, which is mainly to explore the relation between the image in photography report and the image of Gansu province. To generate the photo data which could express the image of Gansu province is the main method in this paper to find out the media influence on public about the Gansu image establishment.This paper is mainly based on Husserl’s three image-consciousnesses: image-thing-apprehension, image-object-apprehension, and image-subject-apprehension. With the combination of the theory of visual psychology, the research framework could be divided into three parts:image technology, image objects, image theme. To make a cross-analysis on selected photo data and to analyze the typical text data are supposed to get a expressible image.The image of Gansu province is divided into seven categories:social, economic, political, cultural, ecological, health care, and emergency. In accordance with the amount of report and the influences, nearly20issues have been chosen as thematic image description. At the end of this paper, to make a conclusion about the findings, and comparison between the image from public and the image from the government’s expectations are aiming to giving some suggestions on photography report.
