Study On Daoan’s Prajna

To promote the Daoan devoted all his life to the spread of Buddhism, advocate the Buddhism Prajna thought and combination of Metaphysics in the Wei and Jin Dynasties formed his own Prajna thought. In this paper, I referred to the Daoan write by himself in the Compilation of Notes on the Translation of the Tripitaka, and description of the Eminent Monks, combined with the research of other scholars about Daoan, trying to show his Prajna theory.Although Daoan learned from Fotucheng who was a famouse monk in Hinayana that was mainly study about Hinayana Buddhism, but he also leared to Mahayana. That time Shihu was death, his dynasty into anarchy, Daoan thought about that and leaded his students and classmates to leave the Ye, then he lived a life of wandering. In this time, he do not forgot to study the Prajna and wrote some works about that. When he go to Xiangyang and Changan, he lived there use his high prestige and position to organizing of Buddhist scriptures translation work. He make a comparative study Mahayana literature and Hinayana literature to get some achievemengts. He think to study Prajna is not only use textual criticism sentence and diction, but only through the complex sentences and to experience the spirit of mystery in order to combine Buddhism Prajna and practice.The formation of Daoan Prajna theroy have some objective reasons. The Metaphysics was popular in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the literati were so powerfully attracted to the Metaphysics that the Metaphysics became a kind of fashion. As the same time, after the foundation of the Han Dynasty to the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Buddhism entered a period of fast growth and more and more people accept the Buddhism. In order to develop better, Buddhism must tailored to the Metaphysics. The formation of Daoan Prajna thought have its subjective reasons. Daoan was quite at Confucianism and Taoism with good academic accomplishment. So, he knew is only let Buddhism tailor to popular taste are rooted in The Eastern Jin Dynasty and get growth. Therefore, Daoan use Metaphysical terms to explain the Buddhism that eventually formed his own Prajna theory.Daoan Prajna theory influenced by the idea of Sunyata in Buddhism, he formed his own Prajna and Sunyata theory inherited the India Mahayana Prajna that think all phenomena on earth is have no real but there is have illusory in the world is still and the integration of the metaphysics in Wei and Jin Dynasties from the viewpoint fo the "Guiwu". Daoan attaches great importance to the research of Prajnaparamita. Development of Prajna after "Geyi" stage enter "Liujia" stage, he found’Benwu" based on "Guiwu" that think everything in the world to the existence of start and the nothing is the essence, he think the essence of all things in the world is Sunyata and in this world it is divided into various grades and ranks, but in the other side of the world everything is equal, to reach the other side of the world from the side of the world is the pursuit of Dharma Realm. Therefore, Daoan proposes to practice Pragnanam Brahma must comply with the Buddhist Triratna like precepts, concenteation, and wisdom.Huiyuan who is lived in Lushan Mountain and transfer Buddha Dharma inheritance his master’s Prajna theory that he vigorously develop Sarvastivada until Tang Dynasty. Danan is a famous Chinese Buddhist scholar and Buddhist leader in the history of Chinese Buddhism who play a foundation role that on the development of Chinese Buddhism and effect Buddhist Sangha norms on later. And to improvement of Chinese Buddhism theory, guide to the Buddhist classics and theoretical interpretation of Buddhism played on the future generations to learn.
