Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a severe and disabling clinical condition, characterised by the recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses that are experienced as intrusive and cause great anxiety (obsessions) and repetitive ritualized behaviours to ease the anxiety caused by the obsessions (compulsive). Patients with this disorder are not voluntary, and in consequence that are both obsession and anti-obsession as a result of comsming of mental resource and affecting excution of task. In addition, the feeling of earnestness unpleasant anxiety and calamities always around them which has a strong impact on social function of the family. Neurobiological investigations of OCD have generally supported involvement of frontal-striatal-thalamic-cortical (FSTC)circuitry in the disorder which is also associated with executive function. It is widely said that the major defect of OCD is the defect of executive function.Inhibition function, as a basic execution function, relateted to FSTC which is involved in the regulation of emotion. Previous studies have found that patients with OCD can not be suppressed and reaction or stimulus processing advantages, and inhibitory control as the primary function of the executive function, the deficit is likely to lead to other executive dysfunctions. They can not suppress emotion processing that bring by disposal of OCD-related information which need to invest a lot of resources to inhibit, thus affecting the conduct of normal task.In this study, the modified emotion Stroop Test and ERPs are be used. The purpose of the first study is to explore the inhibition function of high vs. low obsessive-compulsive individual affected by information related to OCD. The experimental paradigm, materials and experimental technique of the second study are same with the first study. Unlike the first is the subject, which is patient from clinic. At last it is necessary to probe the effects of contradistinction high obsessive-compulsive and patient. The results:(1) The behavior result of the first experiment has no significant differences in a accuracy rate and reaction time.Accroding to the ERPs results, the words related OCD elicited a more positive ERP deflection in the time window of350-450ms in high obsessive-compulsive group than neutral and negative word, on the contrary there is no such significant difference in low obsessive-compulsive group. High obsessive-compulsive individual process the information related to themselves with higher priority. Based on previous studies, individual need to pay plenty of mental resource to inhibit the processing of information caused by the information related to the symptom in order to complete the task.(2) As the same of the first study, there is no significant difference between the two groups on accuracy rate and reaction time. The result of ERPs is similar to the first experiment that Patients show greater amplitude in the window of350-450ms after stimulation. OCD word elicited a more positive ERP deflection in patient group than neutral and negative word. This is in line with previous conclusion.
