Wire ropes as improved transportation and carrying equipment in the key componentsare widely used in many engineering fields, and the carrying capacity of their injuries directlyrelate to the equipment and personal safety. To this end a number of developed countries torope safety regulations and the corresponding national standards require periodic testing ofwire ropes in order to ensure the safe use of both, not because of its economic waste causedby early retirement.Metal sectional area loss is a more common and important wire rope defects,In thispaper the metal sectional area of wire rope loss electromagnetic method a preliminaryresearch and design a complete detection system. First of all, the paper theoretically analyzesthe wire rope magnetized way and strength of wire magnetized excitation effect, establishesthe permanent magnet excitation magnetic circuit model, designs the magnetic saturationexcitation device that makes wire rope to saturation magnetization depth; on this basis, thispaper analyses and compares the magnetic flux method and magnetic bridge road test, usesthe principle of magnetic bridge road to test wire rope metal sectional area loss, establishesmagnetic bridge road mathematical model of the magnetic field, analysis the axial magneticbridge road test resolution, makes sensor and signal processing circuit, realizes thetransformation between wire rope metal sectional area magnetic signal loss and the signals ofthe; designs the LMA signal acquisition system bases on PXI-6281multi-function datacollection card,develops the wire rope LMA detection of virtual instrument system. Thesystem has friendly interface, easy operation and realizes the function of the LMA wire ropeinspection integrative and Intelligent.
