The chemistry of organic-inorganic coordination polymers and supramolecularcomplexes has recently become an active area of increasing interest internationally.Thestudy of coordination-driven self-assembled discrete and polymeric metal-organicframeworks (MOFs) is a very active interdisciplinary research area. Thesemetal-organic assemblies have intriguing structures and potential applications as smartoptoelectronic, magnetic, and catalytic materials. In this thesis, a series of bent ligandsbridging by the open-chain crown ethers, 1, 3, 4-oxadiazole, 1, 2, 4-triazole andfluorescein ligands were used. The coordination chemistry based on theseligands,co-ligands and metal ions was investigated. Totally 17 new coordinationcompounds were prepared and fully characterized by IR, elemental analysis, X-raysingle-crystal diffraction and powdered X-ray diffraction.Ⅰ. A new {2[Cd(4,4’-bipy)(L1)(H2O)](4,4’- bipy)11(H2O)}nwas synthesized based onpolyether-bridged carboxyl ligand,4,4’- bipy and cadmium (Ⅱ).With the host-guestaccoupled, seven new coordination polymers were synthesized based on it:{0.39Tb(H2O)83+ Cd(Ⅱ)-MOF}n(2); {0.62Eu(H2O)83+ Cd(Ⅱ)-MOF}n(3); {0.45Nd(H2O)83+ Cd(Ⅱ)-MOF}n(4); {0.37Tb/0.16Eu(H2O)83+ Cd(Ⅱ)-MOF}n(5); {0.28Tb/0.65Eu(H2O)83+ Cd(Ⅱ)-MOF}n(6); {0.20Tb/0.32Eu(H2O)83+ Cd(Ⅱ)-MOF}n(7);{0.31Tb/0.34Nd(H2O)83+ Cd(Ⅱ)-MOF}n(8). Its tunable luminescent properties wasinvestigated.Ⅱ. Seven new coordination polymers were synthesized based on 1, 3, 4-Oxadiazole and1,2, 4-Triazole bridged ligands with co-ligands: {Cd(L22(NO——3)2}n(9); {Cd(L22(OTf)2}n(10); {Zn(L3)2(BDC)}n(11);{Ni(L4)2L’}n(12); {L5(H2BDC)(H2O)}n(13);{Cd(L5)(BDC)}n(14); {Co(L5)2(HBDC)2}n(15).Their single crystal structures wereinvestigated.Ⅲ. Two new coordination polymers were synthesized based on the semi-rigid organicligands bridged by 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole:{Hg2(L6)2Cl4(CH2Cl2)}n(16); {Hg2(L6)2Br4(CH2Cl2)}n(17), Their single crystal structures were investigated. This study demonstrated that the use of the flexible open-chain polyether-bridgedligands and 1, 3, 4-oxadiazole, 1, 2, 4-triazole as precursors with N-containingtemplates to bind metal ions, is in fact a new and efficient approach for synthesis ofnovel supramolecular systems with interesting fluorescent chemical and physicalproperties.
