A novel tetra-substituted phthalocyanine zinc compound: Zn(Ⅱ)Pc[NHCOCH2-(PEG)5NH2]4(4) has been synthesized by template reaction method. These compoundsare characterized by UV-Vis absorption spectra, IR spectra, proton NMR spectra (1HNMR) and MALDI-TOF-MS and fluorescence spectrometric methods.Electronic absorption spectra of these complexes have been measured indichloromethane (CH2Cl2), tetrahydrofuran (THF), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) andwater. The state, the absorbance of Q-band and the aggregation behavior of thesetetra-substituted phthalocyanine zinc compounds were studied in these solvents. The fluorescence spectra of tetra-substituted phthalocyanine zinc complexes havebeen measured in DMF, THF and CH2Cl2. The solvents and concentration were studiedon the maximum wavelength of emission and fluorescence intensity.Hela cells were kept with tetra-substituted phthalocyanine zinc compounds (4),after the Hela cells were illuminated with a red (610nm), each well was illuminated for15minutes, then MTT solution was added for measuring cell viability. Absorbance wasmeasured, and the ability of generation of singlet oxygen of phthalocyanine zinccompounds (4) was studied.
