The grinding function of mill equipment is achieved by the movement of mill medium, so via optimizing the size of ball and the matching of ball size rank is a vailable way to enhance the mill efficiency and reduce power and steel consumption, improve the size distribution of mill production. In order to scientifically and pecisilly optimizing the matching rate of ball size distribution, it is necessary to adopt a efficient way of load mill ball. This paper adopted ball diameter half theory formula which was deduced from crush mechanics theory to realize precisely load ball, experiments were carried out which objector was from DaPingZhang copper ores to realize the precisely ball load of first grinding, the medium shape and size of second and third grinding on the grind production size distribution were penetratingly studied too.This copper and zinc sulfide of Da Ping-zhang in Yunnan province is a typical complex and difficult to select polymetallic sulfide ore. And its valuable metal ore are chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite and pyrite. The main gangues are chlorite, feldspar, quartz and so on. The study of process mineralogy of this ore shows that the dissemination size is thicker and according to the tests of MLA, the results show that the monomer dissociation was6-16μm, and encapsulated and attachment are complicated and various. This ore belongs to the polymetallic sulfide ore which is complex cotain and difficult to select. The current processes used the conventional selective flotation, and the amounts of the zinc contained in the copper and the copper contained in the zinc concentrate were serious.So the pressing issues for this type polymetallic sulfide ore was the study of new technology for mineral process.Based on the fine disseminated size and complex paragentic relationship of the ore, researching a kind of high efficiency and energy saving grinding process is the chief problem to improving the liberation degrees of the minerals. The grinding process has been improved through a series of experiments. The steel ball is the grinding medium of the one stage grinding, the size ratio of it is φ100:φ90:980:φ60: φ40=1:1:3:3:2; The grinding medium of the secondary and thirdly grinding process is cast-forged steel ball, the size ratio of it is D×L35×40mm:30×35mm=1:1; D×L35×40mm:30×35mm=1:1, respectively. By this grinding process, the fineness grinding of the one、secondary and thirdly stage is90%-200mesh、50%-200mesh、90%-400mesh respectively without a additional investment. Then, the liberation of the minerals can be realized.
