Thiourea derivatives, because of the good biological activitives, have widely applications in the industrial, commercial, agriculture, medicine and chemistry areas. The compounds can be used as antibacterial agent, herbicide, pesticides and plant growth regulator. They also can be used as anti-HIV drugs, anti-TB drugs, anticancer drugs, AHDs and so on. They are a kind of great research value chemicals. In this paper a series of thiourea ligands derivatives were prepared by reaction of2,3-dimethylaniline and thiocyanate potassium. A kind of metal complex was also synthesized. The single crystals were characterized by IR, elemental analysis and X-ray diffractometer.Five new compounds were:DM:N-(2,3-Dimethyl-phenyl)-N’-(methoxyl formyl) thioureaDY:N-(2,3-Dimethyl-phenyl)-N’-(ethoxycarbonyl) thioureaDB:N-(2,3-Dimethyl-phenyl)-N’-(benzoyl chloride) thioureaDMB:N-(2,3-Dimethyl-phenyl)-N’-(anisoyl chloride) thioureaPolymermetal complex:Cu(C16H16N2OS)2ClThe specific heat capacity of the four ligands was determined by using a Micro-DSC method. The specific heat capacity curve was fitted out in283K-353K. Theoretical calculation value by using statistical thermodynamics method and measured results were compared. And the enthalpy change, entropy change and Gibbs free energy change of four ligands, relative to the standard temperature298.15K, were calculated through thermodynamic relationship. The thermal behavior of the compounds under a non-isothermal condition was studied by DSC/TG method. The configuration optimization, the frequency calculation, the total molecular energy and NBO analysis of the four ligands were carried out by Gaussian03W package and taking HF and B3LYP method. On the basis of the previous study in our laboratory, the growth rate method and microcalorimetric method were used to test the bacteriostatic effect of the compounds against the rhizocronia solani, alternaria solani and fusarium graminearum. The growth rate method was used to determine the inhibition rate of the compounds in certain concentration. The microcalorimetric method was used to detect the bacterial growth thermographic curve in the certain concentration and simulate the equation of exponential phase. Then the growth rate constant and generation time were calculated. Finally the two methods were compared.
