Under external forces, materials’ geometric shape decreases with time, this process is material crushing. Although the process of material crushing is complicated and the study is not deep, the material crushing played an important role in the national economy. Study on the mechanism between mechanical and granular particles system basing on the development of Discrete Element Method, and the method used in the study of particles crushing mechanism effectively. For the purpose of simulating the whole process of squeezing and fractured, this study implemented dynamic simulation of the particles’whole process from entering crushing chamber to be crushed, with the mode of crushing process made by the EDEM software. In the simulation, study on four crushing effect factors, the factors are stroke, porosity, nip angle. Every factor is analyzed by crushing force, product size, number of broken bonds, particles’ velocity and force. By this study, several effective results and conclusions have been obtained.1. The established simulation model is feasible. By comparing the EDEM calculated conclusion, particle force of theoretical calculation results and crushing experiments made by related scholar. Draw a conclusion that the maximum crushing force results obtained by EDEM simulation, theoretical calculation and crushing experiments are close extremely, and the change law is similar.2. Particles’ porosity is smaller, the particle crushing force is larger, and is helpful to realize laminate crushing.3. Moving jaw exist a best stroke. In this stroke, particle crushing force is large, the number of broken bonds are much enough, the crusher’s productivity is high enough, the stroke is too short or too long not good to crushing effect, which is a guiding law to the crusher design.4. Crusher exist a best nip angle. Finding the best nip angle should consider both the moving jaw’s force and the number of broken bonds, prove crushing force and productivity effectively.5. In the process of crushing, particles squeeze with each other, the under half of crushing chamber, the moving jaw force is more large, when the force is large enough, crusher can realize laminate crushing.6. When particles are squeezed in the crushing stage, particles’ velocity and force are larger than compacting stage and material discharge stage.
