The development and utilization of coal mine drainage is an effective way to reduce the degree of water shortage in the water stress area. In this paper, high suspended solids mine drainage which accounted for about60%in the part of northern China coal mine was studied, in view of low-priced and easily-got characteristic of the corn starch, taking the natural high polymer corn starch as raw material, synthesized the cationic starch flocculant by graft copolymerization and cationic etherification. The structure of the cationic starch flocculant was characterized by SEM map and FT-IT, the flocculation performance was evaluationed through beaker experiment and its flocculation mechanism has been studied.Corn starch-acrylic amide(AM) graft polymer cationic flocculant was synthesiszed by copolymerization with corn starch and AM as materials, ammonium persulfate and sodium hydrogen sulfite as the initiator,2.3-glycigyl trimethyl ammonium chloride was usad as cationic agent, and the optimum condition of cation were established through orthorhombic experiments:graft polymer reaction time is4h, corn starch dosage for5g, AM and corn starch quality than4:1, dosage of initiator for1.4g, GTA dosage4.0g, NaOH dosage0.24g, etherification reaction time2.5h, reaction temperatuer for70℃The system of coal mine drainage where come from Shan-Xi ximing was used to evaluate the efficiency of flocculation. Comparing with the inorganic flocculant(PAC) and the organic flocculant(PAM), microorganism flocculant(γ-PGA), we investigated the parameters including dosage, the sequence of dosing, compound effect, and temperature, stewing time, pH application scope, respectively. Consequently, we acquired the optimized conditions of applications.
