The water pollution problem has become more and more popular problem, how to supervise and detect large area more effectively has become a popular research direction of scientific research. At present most of the detection means is to stay in visible light, infrared band and radar model, these methods always be affected by the weather and environment, and they can’t monitoring any time and any places. And this paper studies the mm band, it overcome the deficiency of the other band, and can monitor water pollution anytime and anywhere, so millimeter wave radiometer is increasingly used in remote sensing observations.Making use of millimeter wave radiation to monitor water pollution has its own advantages:strong penetration ability, high accuracy and it can monitoring any time and any weather, etc. Compared with other natural features, water has significantly millimeter wave radiation characteristics (bright temperature is low, cold target).The oil pollution, vegetation, water salinity, water temperature has significant specific radiation characteristics. Through this characteristic can distinguish the pollutants (including suspension and floating on the water and dissolved in water) and water, to achieve the purpose of monitor the water. Preliminary study of millimeter wave radiation characteristics of typical water sources can provide a new method and effective technology in the field of water pollution control.The research direction of this paper is to establish the model of water pollution radiation characteristic,and analysis and test combined with the outdoor experiments.In order to systematically introduce and analysis modeling method, mainly to do the following work: Firstly, introduce the basic principle of microwave radiation; And then simply introduce the millimeter wave radiometer system and scaling method of radiometer, research the dielectric constant and radiation characteristics of several kinds of typical features and surface target and simulation, do preliminary research for modeling; At last, the paper introduces two kinds of three layer feature modeling method, and modeling by equivalent transmission line method and coherent method, and verify and analysis the model combined with the actual radiation measurement experiment.
