There are three maioy destruction in the form of metal structures:Abrasion, Corrosion and Fracture. Wear and corrosion is very slow,usually byregularly checking,repair replacement to solve.The fracture is often of suddenand often causing catastraopic of equipment accident or personal accident.Thefracture was caused by many reasons, overload low temperature brittle fracture,stress corrosion, hydrogen embitterment, cadmium brittle,fatigue,etc.Fatigue strength has a very important significant not only in ariationthe,aerspace, vehicles,shipbuiding and atomic,but also affects the reliabilityand the service life of the general mechanical productor.This artical based on the driving roller conveyor as an example to ansysthe problems of the metal fatigne.The analysis process is divided into two parts:first,verificating strengthand stiffness of the drum by using the finite element,second, calculating thefatigue life of the roller when it run in condition,and simulating its fatigue lifeby related software.The analysis module of the finite element: according to the characteristicsof the force which act on the roller to analysis the type and size of the force,and deduced its changes in the formula when the roller running. According tothe solid model to estabbish a corresponding finite element model, andsimulated the stresses and the deformation of the roller when it is in thestart-up and stable operating conditions.Fatigue analysis module: First, samply introducing the concept of fatigue,the stress fatigue analysis, the weld fatigue analysis and the method ofcalculating fatigue life. Secondly,calculating the life of the weld seam whichon the body of the roller, and calculating the life of the roller when it is actedby the force. Finally, simulating the life of the roller by the Nsoft software. Through calculating the strength, stiffness and fatigue strength to find outthe reasons for the destruction of the roller, which have a certain guidingfunction for the roller manufacturing.
