Comparing with other iron-making methods, blast-furnace iron-making is outstanding for its advanced features such as high energy efficiency, low consumption and high production efficiency. Since its inception in the16th century from Europe, blast furnace smelting process has gradually developed into the most important process in the form of modern iron-making. The blast furnace burden calculation is a theoretical calculation to determine the ratio of raw materials based on given conditions of raw material types and smelting parameters. Nowadays it is an important tool of the structural adjustment of the blast furnace, and also one of the most frequent used and highly concerned method in blast furnace smelting process.Blast furnace burdening calculation is based on numerous parameters and complex conditions. Blast furnace burdening calculation used by the most Chinese domestic iron and steel making enterprises is based on forward calculation with verifying adjustment. Such methods have common disadvantages such as low efficiency, long calculating time, highly depends on experience and inconsistency in results. The optimized blast furnace burdening calculation model based on linear programming could effectively improve the calculation efficiency and provide a clear and most optimized guidance for blast furnace operators of different levels.As a total solution to blast furnace burdening problem, the Optimized Blast Furnace Burdening Model Software mentioned in this paper is based on the theory of classical blast furnace material balance and heat balance equation, modeling by linear programming of blast furnace ingredients and solving the problem by simplex method. On the aspect of software implementation, this software uses Oracle lOg database, C++Coding for algorithm implementation, C#Coding for operation screen, and provides a user friendly operation interface.This paper has six main chapters:Chapter Ⅰ introduces the research background, the significance of the topic and the main topics; Chapter Ⅱ introduces the current blast furnace burden calculation status, and the ingredients calculating equation by quoting the blast furnace smelting theory; Chapter Ⅲ describes the blast furnace ingredients linear programming modeling process and further analyzes its rationality; Chapter IV explains the detail in the system architecture, the relationship between classes, and the design of the database table of the Optimized Blast Furnace Modeling Software; Chapter V describes the technology and user interface of this software, and shows the actual tracking results; Chapter VI concludes the above sections and gives a future prospect.The Optimized Blast Furnace Burdening Model Software mentioned in this paper is under the process of national invention patents application.
