Cutting Parameters of Hole Machining Optimization System (HCPO) is designed to help process designers to select the best cutting parameters quickly. Traditional method of select the cutting parameters is difficult to meet the fast and reasonable requirements of the cutting parameter selection for the modern enterprise. Therefore, the research on this kind of optimization system has important practical meaningful for modern enterprises in reducing process costs and improving the economic benefits.According to the software engineering ideas, the overall scheme of HCPO is researched, and a series of related content is completed, include the overall system architecture design and the system workflow design. In order to research the influence law of every single cutting parameters and its’interaction on the surface roughness and cutting force, the cutting experiment is designed, the cutting parameters’impact on surface roughness and cutting force is summed up, and an artificial neural network prediction model of surface roughness and cutting force is established based on the cutting parameters. The strongly non-linear relationship between the cutting parameters and the surface roughness and cutting force is solved well by this prediction model. On the foundation of the prediction model, the optimization model of cutting parameters is established, which the minimum processing time and the minimum processing cost is considered as the objective function and the surface roughness and other technical requirements is considered as the constraints. Another optimization algorithm which combined the genetic algorithm with nonlinear programming optimization is proposed, and optimized cutting parameters is obtained by using this algorithm to calculate the optimal model.Finally, based on the above research results, HCPO is developed by using C#and SQL Server, etc. Then, the application examples of this system are presented.
