With the deepening of open-pit mining,the high and steep slope brought about severe deformation and destruction, and caused deformation and destruction of the surrounding surface and ground-level structures,which seriously affected the normal use of environmental safety and facilities.Therefore, the high and steep slope safety issues was an important topic in the field of geotechnical engineering, which had important theoretical significance and application value.This paper was based on the engineering problem of the high and steep side slopes of Buzhaoba open-pit mine,which studied highwall stability and security control measures.The main contents were as follows:1) It gave steady-state analysis of the boundary of the slope of Buzhaoba open-pit northwest side,and got that according to the original production design,the boundariy slop was in an unstable state.2) Using numerical simulation method,systematic analyse of the slope of the three-dimensional deformation effects,to find out the effective control of length,thus providing a basis to the boundary of the slope safety control.3) Based on three-dimensional deformation effects of slope,in advance within the line of presser foot deformation control technology was proposed for the northwest side slope.4) Completed the In line of optimization design problems of the boundary of the west slope.and completed within loess soft basal control method.and proposed the process heap row,and completed of the cross-sectional honggou and slope drainage system and dump reclamation engineering.5) According to different governance solution, it gave the project cost analysis and came within the row of presser foot comprehensive economic benefits.
