At present, with the rapid development of China, the urban landscape color has been paid widespread attention. The color has become a city landscape and cultural identity of good or bad. Beijing, one of the four ancient capitals in China, has more than3,000years of city history and the history of850years of capital. And Beijing reflecting the profound Chinese culture since from the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, with many historical sites and cultural landscape, is famous for its most world cultural heritage. In the long historical process, buildings and billboards and other significant landscape color have been formed distinct characteristics. But in the most nearly three decades, the development about urban landscape color does not keep up with the ever-accelerating process of urbanization. However, so far there is no systemic study and plan for the landscape color in this district. In view of such situation, this thesis attempts to get a system landscape color research which is suitable for Beijing.The structure of this paper consists of three parts, including theoretical introduction, practical research and planning.First, based on the studying of the urban landscape color history and present situation at home and abroad, the paper is supported by Color Geography, the Color Aesthetics, the Street Aesthetics, and theories of Urban Landscape Planning etc.Second, according to the color theories of Munsell to measure the color composition of outdoor advertising, green landscape, public facilities in the Liulichang, lobtained the first-hand information and then produced Munsell chromaticity diagram to make a systematic investigation.Finally, for the purpose of conservation and heritage, the paper put forward the color planning and design concept for this Liulichang block.
