With the expansion of cities, the traffic organization of the city central district attracts different social layers’ attention. The central district is a coral district of the urban stucture and a very significate forming part of the urban function, including the main administrative center, commercial Center, cultural center, retail center, information center, etc, which concentratedly reflects the social and economic development level and development type, and undertakes economic operation and social management function. The outstanding feature of the city central district is the socialization and publicness. The traffic problem of the city central district is complex and diversified. Many of road cohesive structure is gridiron network. Therefore, the research paper choose the representative gridiron network as research object, and recommends appropriate public transport backbone network, and conducts further research on transfer characteristics.The paper firstly analyzes the historical and cultural background of gridiron network, summarizes the character and influence on daily travel, elaborates the relationship and interplay among urban structure, land use and public transport, and on this basis, proposes two patterns of public transport key lines network development which is suitable for large and medium gridiron cities:mono-centri mode and center protection shell mode, what is more, proposes the public transit network evaluation index, chooses the directness and transferences that is the main concern of most citizens as the research focus, and summarizes the development experience of transfer station at home and abroad, gets the formula average transfer coefficient of n×n.(n+1)×n gridiron network. On the basis of studying6×6gridiron, get the average transfer rate and direct rate of change by increasing one lines in the likeness of "Z"("Z" lines), two "Z" lines, two"Z" lines and one loop line. In the consideration of marginal effectiveness, preliminarily explores an reasonable balance between increase of public transport operation cost and decrease of the average transfer coefficient. Finally, through analyzing Public transportation backbone network of ZhongShan city and ChangDe city, interprets the research results and the practical application value of this paper.
