With the speedy development of our national high-speed and heavy haul railway, and the running of high-speed trains and heavy load trains, the track device state is exacerbated, the workload of the railway track maintenance is increasing too. Because of increasing density of traffic and shortened driving distance, the operating time of the line maintenance has been declining, which makes the contradiction more and more prominent between the line maintenance with railway transport requirements. In this paper combined with the science project of the Ministry of Railways, the efficient information platform for the rail maintenance has been developed by computer and network technology, which could be used to improve the quality and efficiency of the railway track maintenance.By researching into a great mass of data on track detection, maintenance and evaluation of our national railway, the author analyses the domestic and international railway’s research status quo about the management information system of railway track maintenance in depth, and sums up open questions from our domestic management information system and the drawback of our railway’s track equipment maintenance management model. The essential data for finishing the platform is collected during field research in the department of railway track maintenance. Then the mathematical model providing a theoretical basis for setting up the platform is established by researching basic data processing and analysis methods, mathematical models. In the end the overall design is proposed according to needs analysis of the research platform and the functional design of each module is refined.The information platform for the railway maintenance researched in this paper is an integrated processing platform used for line test data, disease data, maintenance data, has vital significance for improving the effectiveness of railway track maintenance.
