The tailing is an indispensable part of mine construction and production, and the security and stability of the tailing dam is the key to the safe operation of the tailing. In recent years, tailing dam deformation monitoring has many monitoring methods. GPS monitoring technology is used widely. However, traditional monitoring methods of GPS are that a receiver can connect a GPS antenna and the receiver is very expensive. With the increasing number of monitoring point, the construction costs will increase significantly. At last, wide application is restricted. According to the tailing dam deformation monitoring requirement, and for the purpose of reducing project cost significantly, this paper designs a system of GPS multi-antenna monitoring for dam deformation and developes the corresponding equipments.Firstly, this paper introduces the background and significance of deformation monitoring of tailing dam, and makes analysis and comparison for tailings dam deformation monitoring technology at home and abroad, mainly introduces the research situation of GPS monitoring technology. Secondly, according to the requirements of relevant laws and regulations, and for the purpose of reducing monitoring cost greatly, this paper designs a system of GPS multi-antenna monitoring for dam deformation and introduces detailedly the composition and function of each module in the monitoring scheme. Thirdly, in order to reduce the project cost further and realize the GPS multi-antenna function, this paper develops a GPS receiver based on OEM board and a antenna switch that can control the GPS antenna work. The hardware circuit of two devices are based on STM32chip as development platform, and consist of power module, conversion module and switch module etc.. Software designs realize data communication, interrupt processing and other functions by Keil uVision4software as development platform and C language as development language.GPS multi-antenna dam deformation monitoring system is applied in the JinYin tailing dam. According to the results of actual operation, GPS receiver and antenna switch work stably and monitor system is reasonable and feasible. The system design not only satisfies the technical requirements of precision and real-time, but also reduces the project cost greatly.
