With the rapid economic development in China, roads, mining, water conservancy, railways, tunnels and other national construction input increasing, so the demand for heavy-duty dump trucks increase, the production and sales of heavy dump trucks soared. Cargo body as one of the important parts of dump truck, in the process of loading ore, the strong impact of falling ore makes the floor large plastic deformation, or the vertical and horizontal beams cracking and fracture.This paper aims to a dump truck cargo body of a Special Vehicle Company, a model of cargo body floor and the analog metal hammer were designed, the impact resistance of the model of cargo body was studied by finite element techniques and test technology. On the basis of it, the suspension systems and elastic of wheels were considered. the finite element analysis model of cargo body under ore impact was established, the explicit dynamic finite element method was applied and the impact response of different quality ore falling from different heights to the cargo body floor of dump truck was solved, the reasons of vertical and horizontal beams cracking and fracture were analyzed, the same quality of ore from the same height impacting the different points of the cargo body floor were solved, the impact resistance of the whole cargo body was researched.The results of our analysis indicate that:When the thickness of bodies floor is16mm and the quality of falling ore is heavier than0.3t, the maximum stress value of cracking and rupture is greater than the yield strength (345MPa) or minimum tensile strength (470MPa) of the material. The maximum stress of each impacted point has a little variation along the length of the bodies, the stress of the floor with no support at the middle is the maximum, and with off vertical beams is the minimum.The results of this study provide evidence and guidance for the structural design of the dump truck cargo body, reduce the damage of heavy-duty dump truck cargo body, improve the service life of heavy-duty dump truck cargo body, and enable enterprises to obtain greater social and economic benefits.
