Because of the more complicated integrated technology and the worse working condition, the fault rate of gun’s system armed by our military is increasing, which affect accuracy of the judgement about main fault mode of gun"s system severity.The subject investigated in this paper is breech system of a gun, the virtual prototype of breech system was established by ADAMS which is based on multi-body system dynamics theories and methods. The wear and fatigue life prediction were researched by investigating the key, important components of the breech system. Besides, a theory of the gun’s failure prediction bases on dynamic fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was put forward, finally the basic process for failure prediction and expression form of prediction result were explained by an operational example, and some achievement was obtained. The main research contents are as follows:First, the fault tree of breech system of the gun was established based on FTA. By analyzing the effect and degree of damage, the main fault modes and the key, important components were conformed. Second, the fault forecast of breech system model based on dynamic fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was established, the basic process and the prediction result was proved feasibility by an operational example. Third, by profound investigating main mechanical model of the breech system, the3D model of the breech system has been built in the environment of Solidworks, and the virtual prototype of breech system was established by ADAMS. Then the characteristics of structural dynamics response of the key components were obtained through simulation, which offer the science data for the wear and fatigue life prediction. At last, according the result of simulation and the theory of the wear and fatigue life prediction, the wear and fatigue life of the breech block was figured out, and the consequence is useful to modify the design of component. The paper offers an optional project for the research of gun’s fault forecast, both the research method and the conclusion are useful to be reference and indication of theory for the maintenance of weapon equipment.
