Jixian Baxianshan nature reserve is a natural secondary broad-leaved forest which retains the characteristics of virgin forest, which is rare in North China and at the same latitude in the world. It’ the water conservation of Yuqiao reservoir and plays a vital role in the maintenance and improvement of Tianjin environment.Carbon stock of forest is one of the key factors that monitors global changes, and remote sensing technology can estimate forest biomass quickly with non-destruction, and then projects carbon stock.Quantitative study on the carbon reserves of Baxianshan forest, examining the quantity and spatial distribution pattern can provide scientific basis for the study of the analysis and control of greenhouse gas emissions in Tianjin, development planning of Baxianshan forest and the management measures of regional forest ecosystem carbon sinks. This study combines remote sensing data and ground survey data, extracts the vegetation index, establish of Baxianshan forest biomass model, map the spatial distribution of forest biomass and carbon stork, and use of GIS system to analyze the spatial of biomass/carbon stocks forest. Result:the total biomass of Baxianshan Nature Reserve is79033t, the average carbon stock is51.8t/hm2. The biomass of mixed conifer&broad-leaved forest is38608.3t, the average carbon stocks is73.75t/hm2. The biomass of deciduous broad-leaved forest is40424.7t, the average carbon stocks is40.3t/hm2. This study shows that in the Baxianshan regions, the better correlation vegetation index with deciduous broad-leaved forest is RVI, and RVI of a quadratic equation in estimating biomass model gets the highest goodness of fit; the better correlation vegetation index with mixed conifer&broad-leaved is NDVI, And the NDVI of index equation in estimating biomass model gets the highest goodness of fit.
