Frame is a key assembly of the vehicle, and many other assemblies also take it as their carrier. Moreover, it endures complicated loads while traveling, so the strength directly related to the vehicle control, safety, comfort, and so on.this paper takes prototype of "the transplanting technolgy and equipment research" program, which is the national12th five year plan scientific support.using UG and ANSYS established respectively the geometry model and the finite element model, through the analysis of the dynamic and static simulation, optimization design and test, to ensure that frame meet the design requirements.This paper respectively discusses stress and deformation of the model when it travels under four typical conditions, which are the horizontal bending, ultimate torsion, emergency braking and emergency turning. This paper also takes modal analysis and transient response analysis, and the first has got the first twentieth vibration mode and inherent frequency, the second has got the frame speed dynamic response characteristics when prototype engine is idling.To test the credibility of the simulation result, this paper selects key sites to arrange strain gauges and imitates horizontal bending and ultimate torsion condition, accomplishing electric experiments based on frame experiment industry norms, then evaluating mechanical property and examining FEM model accuracy and reliability of numerical calculation. Take transient shock response test to the second round of prototype, select the dynamic stress test frame the biggest change2point, obtain the dynamic stress variation curve, frame the acceleration curve, experiments prove the second round prototype have high safety coefficient, can withstand the most dangerous conditions.In the base of ANSYS simulation predicted results and electrical measurement test. In this paper the total quality frame as the objective function, strength and rigidity as constraint conditions. The frame optimization design by adjusting the longitudinal beam and the cross section shape, thickness design parameter, and will be applied to the optimization results of prototype machine design and manufacturing, the field and road test prove the optimal scheme is feasible and the optimization result is credible. Surely it achieves good performance. The test data demonstrates that the optimization solutions could well meet lightweight requirements, and increase product economy and competency.In a word, this paper creatively applies CAD/CAE technology to special purpose vehicle frame design. Through combination of electric experiment and FEM check static and modal performance of width adjustable and ground-clearance variable espalier type spraying vehicle, then directly applies the findings to frame structure optimization, and guides manufacture of the second sample vehicle. As a critical part of the national project, this paper has great engineering significance.
