In The Local Music Culture In Local Colleges And Universities Music Education Practice And Innovation

Local Music is the name of a certain regional music. It is the unique music language withlocal characteristics of that region. Thus, the inheritance of the local music culture in universityeducation has been a common focus in the music education field in recent years. And asuniversities are the cradles for high-quality talents and music teachers, it is necessary for them toenhance the building of the local music culture education, which has a special effect on adding thewidth and depth of the scale of today’s university students’ comprehensive knowledge, broadeningtheir horizon in the subject, promoting Chinese folk music culture and so on. Therefore, by takingan ordinary local comprehensive university—Yichun University as an example, this article tries tostudy the practice and innovation of local music culture in music education in local universities.It consists of four parts and a conclusion. The first part is the introduction which tells theorigin of the research issue, the research status and objects in this field, the establishment of theresearch methodology and the difference between the concept of “local music” and that of “localmusic culture education”. In the second part, the author use questionnaires for students andteachers to survey the inheritance of the local music culture in the education of Yichun University.The third part describes the practice of local music culture education in Yichun University andsummarizes its disadvantages, thus comes to the way to innovate the education and its content.And the fourth part elaborates on the problems in the practice of local music culture education inlocal universities and puts forward some suggestions for the better inheritance of local music inlocal universities. At last, the conclusion is about the responsibility of the local universities. Theyshould pass down the local music culture, which is what music education in them should be basedon.
