‘S+W+死我了’phrasing frequently used in modern oral Chinese, constantly becomes themost effective and direct way to express people’s innermost feelings with its simple form andmultiple functions. Modern Chinese grammar educational circles have done in-depth researchand discussion on certain structures relative to this phrasing on basis of which I begin thestudy of some particular phenomenon existed concerning such sentence pattern.‘S+W+死我了’phrasing is a special pattern where the meaning still do not change even its subject andobject interchanges. The study on this topic will do great help on finding the common patternsexisted in oral Chinese and the peculiarity of its composition. By composition withconventional patterns, its special pragmatic functions will be fully explored to further expandthe scope of linguistic studies and deepen the understanding of linguistic theory.This article, focusing on‘S+W+死我了’such modern Chinese phrasing,comprehensively and systematically analyze its current research situation, patterncharacteristics, limitation of its components, reasons for reversibility of subject and object, itspragmatic functions, etc. This thesis is consist of 5 parts.First part: Introduction. This part includes 4 sections which separately are researchobjects and significance, research range and methods, the current research situation of suchpattern and corpus selection. This part demonstrates the writing contents and methods inmacroscopic scope. The first section presents the current research situation of reversiblepattern and some research outputs relative to‘S+W+死我了’which could act as a greatenlightenment and guidance to this thesis.Second part: the construction study of“reversibility‘S+W+死我了’”. This part isdivided into 4 sections: structure theory, structure meaning, limits of this structure to its fixedcomponents and limits of this structure to its variable components among which the last twoare key points which mainly analyze some components of this pattern. The peculiarity of eachcomponent could be clearly displayed by study of the limits of‘S, W,我,了’such items withthe help of structure meaning.Third section: analysis on cause of formation of“reversibility‘S+W+死我了’”. Thecommon transformations includes“shifting, addition, delete and substitution”stated in theoutline of linguistics written by Ye Feisheng and Xu Tongqiang. The reversibility of subjectand object could be treated as a kind of transformation which belongs to shifting. This part will mainly illustrate on basis of Transform principles stated by Wan Jingmin. This articlefocuses on identity and restriction such two principles between which the restriction will beseparately defined from grammar, semantics, pronunciation and context four aspects, then it isfound that‘S+W+死我了’does accord with such transform principles.Fourth part: the pragmatics of“reversibility‘S+W+死我了’”such phrasing.‘S+W+死我了’itself does have certain pragmatic functions, however, such function will be moreobvious in oral communication once it is defined as reversible pattern. In this part, thepragmatic functions such pattern obtained will be discusses from three aspects: 1>point outthe uniqueness of semantic meaning to stop from ambiguity; 2> realize efficiency of linguisticperformance; 3> the irreplaceable emotional meaning. In third sector it mainly adoptscontrastive analysis which focuses on the emotional meaning existed in ba-construction andBei-construction to highlight the non-substitutability of‘S+W+死我了’such pattern and toreflect its unique emotional feelings.Fifth part: before and after comparison of‘S+W+死我了’such reversible pattern. It doesexist partial reversible pattern in‘S+W+死我了’, however, the Operating Frequency varies indaily oral communication reversed before and after. Thus contrastive analysis is processedbetween these two patterns from grammar, semantics and pragmatics three aspects to searchfor the hidden differences between them.
