Under the pattern of internal and external end of the Qing period,some intellectuals of the patriotism recognize that the crisis of the nation. They believe that drama is a literary style with a wide range of mass,and thus advocate a dramatic improvement movement. In the end of the Qing period, Chinese theatrical stage drama activities is devided in various forms, they will be collectively referred to as the "trendy drama".The subject matter and content of "Trendy drama" is largely from historical memory. The historical memory resources in "trendy drama" can be broadly grouped into the following three aspects. The first is the ancient Chinese history and memory; the second is events from late Qing Dynasty to modern times, and even just occurred near the "News" Review; the third is the recall of foreign historical events.The birth of "Trendy drama", was especially accepted for the lower middle class people,which played a huge role in promoting the revolution enlightenment. However, after the failure of the Revolution, the trendy drama inevitably commercialized, vulgarization of development, and gradually decline. However, we can not obliterate the meaning and Revolutionary Enlightenment effect of the trendy drama. On the one hand, through the use of historical memory, the trendy drama promote the development of the Revolution and other reform movements in the late Qing period; on the other hand, the trendy drama and the Revolution has left a new historical memory to the Chinese nation.
