Observation is the name of a magazine, which is published during1946-1948.During this period, liberalism intellectuals were the most active member in modern China. During this period, Liberal intellectuals took an active part in political activities. They issued positive opinions in allusion to the Chinese communist party, the Kuomintang authorities, the student movements on May twenty and the capitalism of American and so on. This thesis choose The Observation which was Liberalism intellectual’s important publication as the research perspective, researched on the Liberal intellectuals’ attitude of the political situation of China at that time.The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part summarizes the Observation’s historical background of publication and the ideas of how to publish this magazine.The second part focuses on the Liberal intellectuals’ sympathy, praise and prejudice attitude to the communist party.The third part mainly concentrates on criticize Kuomintang authorities’ decadent rule from the two aspects of politics and economy in our society.The fourth part mainly discusses The Observation’s attitude of the Students movements on May twenty of1947and liberal intellectuals called for correct handling of student protests.The fifth part is the keystone of this thesis. In the early postwar period, intellectuals have a good impression to The United States. But with the capitalist America aggression agented and invaded china more severely, from the political, economic, military and diplomatic four ways. Their actions caused The Observation Liberalism intellectuals’strong indignation.
