Today,the higher education of dance major has been developingrapidly in China. Compared with the specialized schools of the danceeducation, the teaching modes and methods show much older and simplerin comprehensive university, therefore, there are some aspects that haveto make better to improve such as the teaching staff and the teachingmaterial construction. The different purposes on training the dance talentsresult in the obvious distinction about teaching plans and teachingprograms between the comprehensive university and the specializedschools. The comprehensive university’s curriculum provision of the folkdance should base on the target about educating comprehensive talents.These universities also should change their opinions of turning out thehigh-level and advanced talents and should gradually change the teachingmethods of paying attention to the dance training and neglecting thetheoretical educating to the teaching methods of attaching moreimportance to educating the comprehensive dance talents who have thedance skill and theoretical knowledge together. The author attempt toopen up the new field that focuses on non-professional dance education,put into the new syllabus of culturing the comprehensive talents, write theeducational plans which meet the special requirements of comprehensiveuniversity for the folk dance learner, offer conceptions on curriculumprovision of the folk dance, explore the development of these courses,and improve the teaching qualities of folk dance in comprehensiveuniversity.
