After 1977 with gradual development toward glory contemporary Chinese literatureeventually reached its peak in the 80s and 90s of the 21 century. Su Tong’s special characteristicsas a writer derive from three aspects. They include the dense literature breath of the times,delicate sense to language of the southern Chinese and born artistic temperament. He carriedon a brand-new revolution on creation style and application of language against traditionalliterary creation which made him well-known as a pioneer. However, as a genius writer he wasnot content with himself and continued to surmount himself unceasingly. From then on heshowed readers with much more abundant works including New Historical Series, Pink Seriesand Street of Chinese Toon Series .By reading Su Tong’s works of any creation periods thoroughly there is unchanging elementin them that is the diligent pursuit toward primitive vitality. This kind of vitality is shownthrough direct image, enlightenment in tension of language and some symbolic image. Su Tong’slove and pursuit to primitive vitality almost make him crazy. In his works all the characters,scenery and images are connected with primitive vitality as the clue to search for the meaning ofhuman life. This makes his works deep and philosophical overwhelming readers in theprimitive atmosphere.The existing researches to Su Tong are mainly on his pioneer gesture, female images andrewriting of history. There is few works on the connotation and characteristics of his creation.This paper is from the perspective of his love to primitive vitality using reproduction and sex,male and female, hatred as structure to make up for the research gap. This would find theprimary causes of the depressing sense in his works to know his motivation. This paper couldalso be reference to the coming researches.This paper include three chapters:Chapter one is the displaying of sex and fecundity. The first section is the wildness of sex.This is shown through illicit intercourse and sexual abuse together with the use of the image oflight to display deep desires of human life. The second section is the worship to fecundity. This isshown through the theory of archetypal Great Mother in his works. And also it is from theinward meaning of the earth and containers.Chapter two is the boast of strength of life. The first section, the strength of female is shownthrough the images of hellcat and beauty snake. The second section ,weakness of male is shownfrom death of the Great Father, tragic hero and young Satan. The third section flurish and deathof plants is shown from the images of trees and crops to display strong vitality. And it also showsthe decling of vitality for lack of plants.Chapter three is the primitive vitality in modern society. This is shown from the twist of sexand blind worship to violence to display the alienation and its negative impacts of primitivevitality. The second section pessimism to primitive vitality is displayed from patterns ofrecurrence and adult ceremony.
