Since quite a long time, maternal sensitivity has been in the privileged position as the only important causal factor of infant attachment. Recently however, other attachment researchers have found out some other factors that would affect the parent-child attachment, such as maternal mind-mindedness, social economical status (SES) and so on. For seeking out the mechanisms underlying the development of secure attachment relationships, our research selected92effective participants families from our Laboratory recorded in2008&2009. Using Maternal Behavior Q-sorts (MBQS), Mind-mindedness Coding Manual (2006), Attachment Q-sorts (AQS), respectively evaluated the maternal sensitivity, mind-mindedness and infant attachment security. Moreover, using the Home Inventory Scale, we estimated the social economical status variables such as maternal educational level, job occupation, family income and so forth. By using the new regression equation that improved by Professor Li Chunling in2005, our research obtain the effective socioeconomic status index (SEI) of each family. The results of the study show that:1. There are positive relations between maternal sensitivity, mind-mindedness, and infant attachment.2. Mind-mindedness has a direct effect on infant attachment; moreover the pathway is mediated by maternal sensitivity.3. SES affects infant attachment in complex ways. It will affect mind-mindedness, maternal sensitivity, and then has an indirect effect on infant attachment.
