Abstract: The pressure of finding a job is high in modern society, parents, teachers andthe whole society think children should go to a good university for their future. So senior highschool students face heavy pressure and burden of studying and they hardly have chance to relaxthemselves and do exercise. And all these lead to learning-burnout among senior high schoolstudents in our country which has been confirmed by several studies. Learning-burnout alsoexists among medium vocational school students who face the pressure of finding job soon andget low evaluation from society. Self-control is very important for human being to adapt tosociety, and it is also an important part of self-structure. High school stage is the key time for selfdevelopment. Fluctuating mood, impulsive behavior and extreme thought prone to appear in thisstage. How to control their mood, behavior and thinking is an urgent problem students face inthis stage. Students in senior high school and medium vocational school are in similar ages,however, they are different from each other in education they received and environment they stayin as well as in other aspects. Therefore, this research is gonging to know the current situation oflearning-burnout and self-control of students in senior high school and medium vocationalschool and if there is deference between the two groups in the two aspects said above. Inaddition, we also want to know the relationship of learning-burnout and self-control.We investigated320senior high school students and184medium vocational schoolstudents using High School Students Burnout (HSSB) Questionnaire and Questionnaire ofMiddle School Student’s Self-control Ability. Both questionnaires have higher reliability andvalidity. At last we deal with data get from our investigation by SPSS17.0and get results asfollowing:(1) Take high school students and medium vocational school students as a whole to consider,their learning-burnout is in middle-downer level and there are significant differences betweengrade one and grade two. And medium vocational students’ emotion exhaustion is significantlyhigher than that of students in high school.(2) Grade one students’ emotion exhaustion, reduced learning efficacy and learning-burnoutare significantly higher than those of grade two students in high school.(3) As for vocational students, grade one is significantly higher than grade three in emotionexhaustion and grade one is significantly higher than grade two and three in alience to teacher.(4) There are significant differences between boys and girls in emotion exhaustion, reducedlearning efficacy and learning-burnout.(5) Take high school students and medium vocational school students as a whole to consider,their self-control is in middle-upper level and there is no difference between students in differentschool and grades, however, boys’ emotion-control is significantly higher than girls.(6)High school boy students’ emotion-control is significantly higher than girl students and there is no significant difference between boys and girls in medium vocational school in anyfactor of self-control.(7) No matter consider from the whole or separately from senior high school and mediumvocational school, learning-burnout and all its factors achieve significantly negative correlationwith self-control and its three factors.
