| Since the new century, the production of genre films has become so rampant. Citylove film, as a sub-category of love film, is unveiled to the sight of the Chineseaudience by an intense production trend. Although since the birth of the Chinese film,there have been a few immature city romantic movies and occasionally fineproductions through the whole history of Chinese film; this special category was onlyformed with its characteristics shaped, as a result of the rapid development of Chinesemodern cities.The development of Chinese cities has been much more advanced since the newcentury,and with this condition, city love film has presented some new characters ofartistic concept and pattern.This essay, based on the content of the production ofChinese city love films, analysis the special features of the content, form andmarketing activities, points out potential issues and provides constructiverecommendations.
