Shallow Theory Of Animation Role Modelling Design

The image of an animated character can be said as souls of a cartoon. Excellent animated characters can win love from their audiences by their distinctive traits of personality, strange and exaggerated image design, their positive attitudes towards life, and rich cultural inside, thus huge commercial benefits will follow then. The success of a cartoon must be accounted for its animated characters. Though people’s memories fade gradually, and plots in the film blur gradually, vivid and personalized cartoon characters can seize the hearts of people, then stay in their memories. This is the invisible but decisive effects of character-image design in the creation of animation.This paper is based on the study of domestic and international character-image design, and analyzes deeply character-image design in the short animation "Water in Life—Enlightenment", in order to illustrate in full the expression form and specialty of character-image design and the importance to roles’personality and plots, and with specific examples shows the important significance of character-image design.
