During 1956 to 1965,Chinese art animation film made a glorious achievement in the world for the innovation in the key part—role design.The domestic environment and art film author were two important factor influencing art film role designs at that time.Among the image characteristics of the art film roles,there were clear realistic creation features in their overall appearance,with their bodies and facial appearance created in the real proportion,without excessive pursuit for exaggeration.In the design of their external parts,they began to bear the unique oriental aesthetics characteristics after being integrated with Chinese traditional art images.In color application during that time,the authors absorbed plenty of color matching schemes in traditional folk arts and traditional painting art,reflecting a strong ethnic color flavor.In action design,the movement modes in the traditional arts of Chinese Beijing Opera,puppet drama and shadow figures were followed to form some new movement patterns like “stylization,puppet style,and the combination of dynamic and static”.The language expression absorbs the art of “spoken parts of a Chinese opera”and has the unique feature in the aspects of dub an d aside.Role subjects could be divided into classic and fairy tale education from the aspect of role character interpretation.Role identification had a tendency of categorization which could be seen from two aspects: the roles are aged mainly like children and the difference classes of the positive and negative roles.There were three types of absolute role characters: flawless quality of being brave and kind,children character a bit defective but humorous,and the negative roles absolutely ugly.The roles at that time were in a basically flat type—simple and distinct,leading to a characteristic role character expression mode.The roles also showed multiple cultural appeals.In this regard,the thesis comes to discuss it from the following six aspects: civil culture flavor,music culture representation,the inheritance of traditional painting,traditional color flavor,inheritance of traditional morality and the publicity of spirit of the time.In the part of modern enlightenment of the role design at that time,the thesis first explores the direct influence on modern digital technology,and then studies the development strategies for Chinese modern character design for animation.
