The Shenzhou Poetry Club Cultural Psychology Research

This article takes "Shenzhou shishe" as a psychological group for the first time, focusing on their "cultural psychology" as the research subject. Through extensive reading and in-depth analysis of the literature, it explores the psychological development and performance factors influencing the "literature societies". Although there are individual studies on the causes and manifestations of "Shenzhou shishe" as literary societies, there isn’t known attempt to approach the psychological development from the perspectives of cultural psychology. Therefore, this article reviews the individual psychological development from a particular cultural unit to examine the "cultural psychology" of "Shenzhou shishe". This study provides new perspectives for the "Shenzhou shishe" and its phenomenon.According to the theory of Cultural Psychology:’cultural psychology’ of "Shenzhou shishe" is the effect of a series of environmental stimulation; the stimulus of the individual and shared experiences produced common ideals and beliefs to form a psychological entity. In other words,"Shenzhou shishe" as a cultural group is formed by individual, social, historical, cultural and other factors.Therefore, this article analyses the factors that shape the cultural psychology of "Shenzhou shishe". In view of this, the key to understanding the cultural psychology of "Shenzhou shishe" is to grasp the influencing factors of the external environment. Understanding the factors which affects the formation of their psychology such as family environment, era of environment and social environment will delve deeper into their psychological state. Based on the unique psychological state of "Shenzhou shishe" caused by significant social and historical environment, this article proposes "resistance","Chineseness" and "modern consciousness" as a basis of understanding their psychology."Resistance" is stemmed from the pressing need to protect their culture against Malaysia’s political oppression."Chineseness" is a confirmation of their culture and identity, and the attempt to build an ideal Chinese identity and a place for cultural spirit. The’modern consciousness " is to embrace modernism on the basis of traditional cultural psychology, and uses literature as a subject consciousness to realize the cultural ideals.Based on the above arguments, the article suggests that the cultural psychology of "Shenzhou shishe" is formed by a collective complex causes that result in a natural psychological, social and historical development in the society. The construction of this psychological group in fact ultimately points to the unique cultural attributes and ideals. The pursuit of discovering the cultural attributes and ideals will be the ultimate aim of gaining an understanding and appreciation of their cultural psychology.
