As one of the most important directors in contemporary Europe, the movies directed by Kieslowski have been known because of reflection and thinking with strong philosophical meaning in them. Current researches on Kieslowski’s movies are mainly from film critics, focusing on film visual language, film form and style, as well as discussions from the aspects of life and moral ethics, and most of them are discussed by using a single film as a starting point. These discussions no doubt provide detailed background and reference materials for us to further resolve Kieslowski and his movies, but also give us the inspiration for entering into Kieslowski’s movies with a new perspective.The paper is intended to start from Kieslowski’s narrative movies, mainly analyze physical significance in the movies of. Bez konca, The Decalogue, The Double Life of Veronique and Three Colors: Blue, White, Red, from four parts which are body multi-dimensionally existed, body crossing with others, body as language, body opening in the world, analyze body images in Kieslowski’s narrative movies, so as to get the same body significance with what in Merleau-Ponty’s somaesthetics theory contained in Kieslowski’s movies. At the same time, the paper is to compare Kieslowski’s narrative movies with Hollywood movies of the same period on the understanding of body significance, making clear that Kieslowski’s movies have exceeding understanding on body significance relative to mainstream commercial films represented by Hollywood. as well as the practical significance for development of contemporary movies.
