Nowadays, Teaching of Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL) has been realized mainly through classroom teaching. The teacher’s skills impact the teaching effects greatly during the process of teaching. In this case, study on in-class teaching skills will no doubt promote sound development of TCSL. Considering that TCSL is a second language teaching with its own uniqueness, the writer believes that it is necessary to seek suitable methods especially for Chinese teaching on the basis of the second language teaching theory. However, researches on such teaching skills are lack of systematicness and practicalness at present, which in turn is less instructive to the classroom teaching in practice. Based on the teaching practice in the Chinese teaching class, this thesis will analyze the problems in existence and principles to abide in four aspects, i.e. class organization, teacher’s questions, language utilization, as well as blackboard-writing. Last but not least, the writer will present a lesson design to show his specific and operable skills in class, so that it could be better used in the future.
