Decorative Painting Overlap Between East And West

This article will explore the painting characteristics of female artists and discuss "the meaning behind the motifs of female and flower" through the intergration of decorative art forms from my oil painting creations.Painting, for me, is a way of portraing life, a means of expressing my emotions. I fancy flowers for its symbolization of beauty; therefore, I often integrate flowers into my paintings. The images of flowers are not just limited to their forms of beauty, I wish to convey an individual sense from a woman’s point of view. Within my creations, I chose the theme "woman and flowers" to intepret the state of mind and sentiments of modern females. Women are like flowers, the images of flowers were chosen to represent the important decorative art symbols spontaneously. Different kinds of flowers have their own distinct language, and when integrated with different figures, it will reflect unique situations and innermost feelings. This series of painting have the special quality of emphasizing beauty and representing sensibility. To go a step further, this article will analyse the reasons why female and flowers are most commonly used by artists, and also find out the elements of decorative art.
