George Orwell is one of the most famous British writers in the first half of the20thcentury. His works includes essays, proses, novels, etc. Almost all the works are closelyassociated with politics. In the later part of his literary career, he paid more attention onwriting political allegory fictions with two profoundly influential ones, Animal Farmand1984.Based on the analysis of George Orwell’s thought origins and research on thedevelopment of western allegory tradition, this paper introduces a new interpretation ofthe writer’s most prominent political allegory fictions and illustrates his image as aliberal ironist in the post-philosophical culture.
