On the theoretical basis of Cognitive Linguistics, this article studies collocation ofChinese common individual quantifiers and nouns, and considers that the collocationof individual quantifiers and nouns is regular, and demonstrates that the process ofcognition is similar with the process of synthetic image thoughts of Han nationality.Therefore, the method that studying the collocation of quantifiers and nouns from theangle of cognition shows its feasibility, and this method is conducive to comprehendthe principle of the collocation, it also enhances standard using of individualquantifiers.This article consists five parts. The Introduction presents the current researchsituation and the trend of the collocation of individual quantifiers and nouns, and theword and phrase source of this article. Section One introduces related theories ofCognitive Linguistics mainly utilized in this article, emphatically the cognition theories,such as Categorization, Metaphor and Metonymy, Prominence, Iconicity, etc. SectionTwo and Section Three analyze and expound the collocation of individual quantifiersand nouns sequentially from the angle of individual and system studying. Furthermore,the individual studying selects five individual quantifiers, Ge, Zhang, Gen, Ben andTiao, as main studying objects, which are discussed and expounded from both angle ofdiachronic development and synchronic analysis. System studying concludes a numberof characteristics and rules, which collocate common individual quantifiers and nounsin modern Chinese. In the Tag, achievements and insufficiencies of this article areconcluded.
