Gallery of Western literary figures in the19th century, the female characters with its colorful occupy a large part of the space, however, there is a kind of female characters, their mode of existence different from the traditional female and male writers marked a strong bias aversion to the label. Writing and shaping of the male writers on them,"heterogeneity" to get great highlights, and can not help but suspect that the survival value as a human being. A collection of four works representative of three male writers of the19th century, discusses the male writers of the old maid image of the attitude at the same time, the interpretation and use of Foucault’s theory of feminism, and reveals the unique the reasons for the formation of image of women, and they shaped the relationship between whole groups of women.The introduction introduces the spinster this type of character image generation, development, research status, and the basis of the writers and their works. The first specific text analysis, describes a male writer to shape the spinster image held by the two attitudes:to demonize and imaginary. The second chapter, from a feminist perspective, reveals this type of characters of the old maid of the social and historical reasons. Chapter Ⅲ, from the text structure of space-time point of view, Foucault’s theory as a basis to reveal and reflect on the spinster image in history, the context of deep meaning and value.The old maid is not, as the works of male writers writing. Male writers to draw the image of women and spinster image of an artificial dividing line, the dividing line is not only drawn in the works, also designated in the female hearts. So explore the survival of an old maid, and actually explore some neglected issues facing the survival of the entire female.
