Wang Yuanhua's Of Western Writers

Wang Yuanhua is one of the Academic Masters in latter half of20thcentury, who “lays cqual stress on learning and thinking” and pursues“citing cases with no value judgment, refusal to go with the stream”.He has a good effect on the research of Hegels “Aesthetics”,“TheDragon of Literature’s Mind” and the comments of ShakespearesDramas. After1990s, Wang Yuanhua has a Reflection on Spirit, which isabout the Academic history and Ideological history. In his paper “MyThree Reflections”, Wang Yuanhua introduces the cause, process, andinfluence of his reflections on spirit in details.In2005,Wang Yuanhua published his new book “The Records ofSpeculation”, whose predecessor is “The Essays of Speculation”“,TheMicros of Speculation”and” The Brieives of Speculation”. He thinksthat,if everyone wants to study his academy and thought,the studiesof “The Essays of Speculation”,“The Ninety’s Diaries”,” The recentthoughts in Qing Park” are necessary.“The Records of Speculation” isa final version, it’s one of the books what is worth to research WangYuanhua’s academy and thoughts.This thesis intends to study it beginning with the “The Records ofSpeculation”. By the analysis of the foreign writers who Mentioned manytimes in it, We can know what influence the foreign writers exerted onWang Yuanhua’s personality academy and thoughts. This thesis isdivided into three parts:The first chapter mainly introduces the Karma between WangYuanhua and the western culture.Wang Yuanhua was born in aintellectual family. His parents were had accepted western education,and they were both Christian. All these factors had influenced thegrowth of Wang Yuanhua’s personality. After joining the communistparty and revolution of China, He starts to contact with the theory of the Soviet Union’s literature and art. At that time, he writes some papers,such as“Lu Xun and Nietzsche”, that has favourable comments.Duringthe time of Hu Feng’s case, Wang Yuanhua keeps reading, from “DasCapital” to Hegel and Shakespeare. Under the influence of westernphilosophy and aesthetics, Wang Yuanhua turns his attention tothought, as while as enters the1990s’ spirit Reflections.The second chapter mainly analysis Wang Yuanhua’ s “TheRecords of Speculation”, what had a long time span and variouscontents. It can be divided into ten series,they are “Reflection andculture”，“the Comments on Rousseau and Han Fei”，“the DynastyPolitics in Late Qing Dynasty”，“Chinese Intellectuals”，“SpeculativePhilosophy”，“Aesthetics and Literature Science”，“the Theory aboutWriters”，“the Gossiping of Culture”.They are basically represent WangYuanhua’s academic and thoughts.There are many foreign writers inthe book,who are mainly from Russia，British，France，and German. Inorder to analysis the common points, the writers who mentioned manytimes are showed by list.In the third chapter, according to the papers in “The Records ofSpeculation”, we can research the relationship between WangYuanhua and these writers, by the same time,we can know theinfluence how to exerted. What’s more,all the factors,such as thepursuit of truth,“toward real”, the worried and thinking of the spirit ofhumanity, all what learning from the foreign writers’ works, are mergewith his three reflections.They gained power among it to promote eachother. Lastly, they become the most important aspects of the researchof Wang Yuanhua’s academic and thoughts.
