"x Y" And Its Related Structure Type Research

“fei X bu Y”is not only a very common construction incontemporary Chinese language, but also a key point and difficultpoint in Chinese Teaching As a Second Language.“fei X bu Y” includesthree common forms:“fei X bu VP”“fei X bu ke/xing/cheng” and “feiX”. Although the academic circle has done some research on thethree forms, the research is not enough and the analysis among them isnot full. Besides the study between “fei X bu Y”and “fei X cai Y”is toolittle. This article is on the basis of the predecessors’ studies and didthorough research in the corpus. In order to reveal the similarities anddifference between the three forms and “fei X bu Y”and “fei X cai Y”,they are compared thoroughly. The phenomenon paper is divided intofive chapters.Chapter One illustrates the purpose of the article and relatedstudies. It also introduces the theoretical basis, the main problems andresearch methods.Chapter Two describes the construction of “fei X bu VP” andsentence function, then analyse its semantic and pragmatics function.Chapter Three describes the two forms of “fei X bu ke/xing/cheng”and “fei X”, then analyse its semantic and pragmatics function. At lastwe study the functionalization of “Y” and absence of “buke/xing/cheng”.Chapter Four mainly compares “fei X bu Y” with “fei X cai Y”. We tryto find out the semantic and pragmatics similarities and difference onthe basis of analyzing “fei X cai Y”.Chapter Five is the conclusion part.
