The Japanese contemporary fashion design developed rapidly after World War II, and in only two or threedecades it was able to be comparable with the modern western fashion design capacity, and occupies an importantposition in the world fashion stage. The success of the Japanese fashion design resides in being good at theorganic combination of the traditional culture and modern art, focusing on finding the essence of traditionalculture, developing modern art connotation, and finally forming a unique oriental artistic style. They have widelyabsorbed various cultures, obtained cultural inspiration from the oriental loose-dressing culture, skillfully tailoreda straight line combined with western clothing technology, and re-interpret the structural relationship betweenbody and clothes space through deconstruction, mix and match and other methods. This paper tries to conduct ananalysis from the Japanese culture personality, aesthetic awareness to the space structure characteristics ofJapanese contemporary fashion design, combining expression methods from representative designers’ work, andsumming up the space expression methods in the clothes deconstruction design. I hope it become a reference toChinese clothes design development.
